The Unicorn Rests in a Garden

For the past two years, a collective of 16 Toronto-based artists has designed custom, fan-art Pokémon cards to engage the local community at Toronto Comicon and FanExpo Canada. Attendees can trade their bulk and duplicate official cards to collect our limited-edition artist prints.

My featured card pays homage to art history by mirroring the iconic late-Middle Ages piece, "The Unicorn Rests in a Garden" from the Unicorn Tapestries. Replacing the mythical unicorn with a Galarian Rapidash, and hidden throughout the intricate medieval garden landscape are 23 additional Pokémon, turning the artwork into an immersive visual scavenger hunt for collectors.
